Who We Are

Deanna Ogle is a knitter, weaver, and spinner who turned a personal passion for working with local fleeces into owning and operating a fibre mill. What began as processing a few locally sourced fleeces for personal projects grew into the vision behind Tailwinds Fibre Mill.

Raised on the Prairies, Deanna learned to embroider, knit, crochet, and craft from her great-grandmothers and grandmothers. She later studied Textile Arts at Capilano University, focusing on weaving, dyeing, and printing. After years organizing in social justice spaces, she returned to fibre work with a renewed commitment to community, sustainability, and regional economies.

Through Tailwinds Fibre Mill, Deanna is dedicated to supporting farmers, strengthening local fibre systems, and promoting environmentally responsible processing. She believes that strong connections to land, animals, and producers form the foundation for meaningful creativity.
